GREENSBORO, N.C. - Crews shipped out snow from downtown Greensboro Saturday, and Sunday they began setting up barricades, a stage and other necessities in preparation of the grand opening of the International Civil Rights Museum Monday.

"The snow was an issue but it's going exactly according to plan." said Monty Hagler, Project Coordinator.

Hagler expects 5,000-10,000 people to attend the opening Monday morning. Crews have set up seating down Elm St. and have put jumbotrons up so everyone can see.

Minerva Freeman and her friend Louis Dupree drove in from Greenville Friday during the winter storm and are sure not to miss any part of the celebration.

"It's an inspiration to us to all of us that we can do a little to advance causes." Freeman said.

"When I came to Greensboro I came to Woolworth's, so they have already paved the way for us." Dupree said.

Crews recommend people that plan to come to the celebration to dress in layers. Temperatures for Monday morning will be in the teens.
